2020 Draft Yet Another Success for the Will Sports Group

The 2020 NHL Entry Draft marked yet another successful year for the Will Sports Group who saw many players drafted by NHL teams from start to finish. Mavrik Bourque, the 2002-born centre from the QMJHL, was chosen thirtieth overall by the Dallas Stars which made it the third time in the last four years that the Will Sports Group has had a player picked in the first round.

Beyond the opening round, the Will Sports Group had an additional eight players selected later in the draft. These players ranged from a diverse set of backgrounds and had junior careers from all across the globe including Quebec to Finland.

During the third round, both Joni Jurmo and Jack Thompson heard their names called as they were selected by Vancouver and Tampa Bay respectively. Later in the sixth round, three more Will Sports Group players including Rory Kerins and Matias Rajaniemi all got to hear their names called. One round later it was Declan Mcdonnell and two others that wrapped up the group of nine Will Sports Group players selected in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Year after year, Will Sports Group continues to add to their proven track record of having players drafted into the NHL. 2020 was the fourteenth straight year that Will Sports Group had a player get selected during the annual NHL Entry Draft. These players were added to the long list of Will Sports Group draft picks in recent history which has included players from a wide variety of countries around the globe.

After the nine players chosen this year, the Will Sports Group has now had over sixty-five different players selected with NHL draft picks since 2007, and over ten in the first round alone. Thirty-five of those players — more than half of them — were selected within the first three rounds of the NHL Entry Draft.

The track record of success speaks for itself at Will Sports Group as players continue to get drafted into the NHL year after year. Congratulations to all the players selected in the 2020 NHL Draft on completing this large milestone along the journey to a long professional career.
