After a successful hockey career (retired at the age of 34 in 2003), Juha Ylonen spend six years coaching junior teams in his home town Espoo. His teams included NHL drafted players such as Miro Heiskanen, Aarne Talvitie, Eeli Tolvanen and Niklas Almari. Working as a coach, Ylonen learned more about what it takes to become a top player in hockey and has prioritized individual player development ever since. Finnish Ice Hockey Federation reward Ylönen as “hockey developer of the year 2011” as a result of Ylönen´s hard work with Espoo juniors. Ylönen was nominated to the Finnish Hockey Hall Of Fame in 2009.

In WSG Finland Juha works intensively with young talents and shares his know-how with them by frequent communication and helps them develop a pro athlete life style and training routines. He has worked with NHL drafted players Miro Heiskanen, Niklas Almari, Lenni Killinen and Patrik Siikanen among others.

Juha is married and has three children. His oldest son, Jesse (-99) was drafted 2nd round by Montreal Canadiens in 2018 NHL Draft.
